Program Coordinator, S:US Urban Farms
Various locations throughout New York City
The Program Coordinator provides a key support role to SUS Urban Farms, a comprehensive therapeutic horticulture program for individuals with disabilities. The position is directly responsible for engaging program participants in landscaping services at various locations throughout New York City.
 
The Program Coordinator will provide supervision, coaching, and support to program participants in activities that include, but are not limited to, maintenance tasks (lawn care, weeding, pruning, raking, etc), installation tasks (planting, basic carpentry construction, basic masonry construction, etc), and other general horticultural tasks (mulching, composting, organic pest management, etc). The Program Coordinator will submit regular reports that track the progress of participants in developing vocational skills and achieving personal goals. The Program Coordinator will also be responsible for the logistics of landscaping services for assigned locations (material procurement, equipment maintenance, etc).

The position may require occasional support for other Urban Farms programming, such as assisting with workshops and training sessions, assisting with community farm activities (including harvesting, product development, and farmers’ market participation), and assisting with special events and activities (including an annual Harvest Luncheon celebration).

Horticultural Therapy Internships (2)
Brooklyn, NY
Two MORE New Horticultural Therapy Internships available in Brooklyn:  ​We are seeking to fill two Horticultural Therapy internship positions by October 15, 2018. Horticultural Therapy sessions take place at a well-known and established healthcare facility for rehabilitation and long-term care near Brooklyn Heights. For the right candidate, the internship offers rewarding hands-on learning and creative programming opportunities. This is an Intergenerational Horticultural Therapy Program that involves working with a group of 6 to 8 mild to moderately disabled young adults, who are paired up with residents of the healthcare facility. The table top/nature-related activities take place indoors or outside in the facility’s patio, weather permitting.

​Horticultural Therapy Internship
Moss Rehab, Elkins Park, PA
The Alice and Herbert Sachs Therapeutic Conservatory at MossRehab offers an intensive Horticultural Therapy Internship program which provides volunteer interns the opportunity to learn the practical skills necessary to work with patients in a physical rehabilitation setting. 
The Horticultural Therapy Internship provides a demanding and highly clinical instructional experience structured to the length of stay necessary for the intern to fulfill the American Horticultural Therapy Association (AHTA) internship requirements. The internship schedule is to be established with approval of the Registered Horticultural Therapist (HTR), within a clinical schedule of 5-day, 40 hour work weeks. It is highly recommended that the intern consider a 32-40 hour weekly schedule. A minimum of two sequential 8-hour days per week is required.

Nature Educator for Pre-School Camp
Glenside/Erdenheim, PA
Looking for an energetic, self-motivated HT (preferably a student) to run a nature program at a local preschool camp in Glenside/Erdenheim for ages 15-months to 5-years old. The camp runs from June 25th  to August 17. This is an 8-week assignment for one day per week, with the possibility of additional post-camp dates in August. The group runs on Tuesday mornings every week during that time, from about 9:30AM to 12, it is usually a 3 hour commitment because you get there by 9:00 to set up. Applicants must be able to commit to all 8 weeks. The sessions will take place on 6/26, 7/3, 7/10, 7/17, 7/24, 7/31, 8/7, 8/14. School Garden Coordinator

The School Gardens Coordinator will be responsible for collaborating with and building capacity amongst teachers to develop and implement school garden programming.
